Greetings, adventurers! Chue here, your guide to the captivating world of Havoc’s Ascent. Today, I’m excited to delve into the gameplay mechanics of our trading card game. Our goal was to create quick and easy gameplay suitable for all ages, with two styles to accommodate both strategic and casual players. Stay tuned for upcoming graphics that will further illustrate these instructions. Here’s a brief overview of how to play:
Setting Up the Game
Grid Layout:
Whether you have a game mat or not, you’ll place your cards in a 3×3 grid. The setup remains the same, whether you’re playing strategically or relying on luck.
Choosing Who Goes First:
Each player takes their Being deck and places it face down. Players then choose a number randomly for their opponent. Both players count the number chosen into their Being deck. The player with the higher number decides who goes first. In case of a tie, the first person to announce their number wins the choice.
Deck Building and Layout
1. Card Selection:
– Pick 9 Tablet cards, 9 Enchantment cards, and 9 Being cards.
– Being cards must total no more than 30 Stars, with only one Five Star card per deck and no more than two of the same card.
2. Grid Placement:
– Lay out your cards in the 3×3 grid, considering strategy since the top row will engage in combat first.
– Place your Combat Deck and Potions Deck face down to the side.
Starting the Game
1. First Move:
– The chosen first player picks a Being from their top row to attack a Being in the opponent’s top row.
– Both players place their selected cards in front of them, along with a combat card and potion card.
2. Combat Resolution:
– Add the combat power of your cards. The player with the higher combat power wins.
– In case of a tie, the defender wins.
– The losing player sends their cards to the graveyard and moves the next card up in the grid.
– The winning player returns their Being and Tablet cards to their original places and sends the remaining cards to the graveyard.
3. Continuing Play:
– Repeat the process until one player’s Beings are all exhausted and defeated.
Declaring the Winner
When one player’s Beings are defeated, the other player emerges victorious. Celebrate your win and get ready for the next epic battle!
Thank you all for your continued support. Your enthusiasm drives us to make Havoc’s Ascent the best it can be. Keep an eye out for more updates and detailed posts. Happy gaming!
